Heritage Ottawa Member Invitation:

Mark your calendars! Our Annual General Meeting will be held online on May 20, 2021.  Members may access the AGM documents here on our Member Access page

AGM business will be followed by the presentation of The Centre Block Rehabilitation Project: Balancing the conservation and renewal of Canada's most iconic site, a special illustrated talk by members of Public Service and Procurement Canada's (PSPC) Centre Block Rehabilitation team.

The Centre Block Project is the largest, most complex heritage rehabilitation ever undertaken in Canada. The project will restore the heritage of the iconic building while creating a modern facility to serve Canada for another century. Given the importance of the high heritage fabric in the building, a robust and innovative heritage conservation framework has been developed and integrated into the project.

Join PSPC to hear how heritage conservation has been carefully integrated within the design for Parliament Hill and the Centre Block, and to learn more about the project's progress.

Guest speakers:

Victoria Angel is the Lead Heritage Planner (CENTRUS) for the Centre Block Rehabilitation Project. She is also the Cultural Heritage Lead at ERA Architects Inc., where she develops heritage conservation strategies and plans for historic places and urban areas. Victoria's recent projects have included the Senate of Canada Building rehabilitation and the National Arts Centre rejuvenation.

Andrew Wisniowski earned his Master of Engineering at the Royal Military College of Canada and completed 20 years of service with the Canadian Forces as a Military Engineer Officer. Andrew has a wealth of design and project management experience across a wide range of building occupancy types and engineering works. He has managed projects through various construction delivery models.
